Turkey Day Cork Craft

Happy Thanksgiving Friends!

If you need a quick holiday decorating idea check out our cork turkeys!  They’re sure to bring a smile to the table this holiday season. They could also be a fun post Thanksgiving dinner activity.

Cork Turkeys

Materials Needed:

champagne corks

googly eyes

pipe cleaner

hot glue gun

If you have children or grandchildren you may have most of these items on hand.  We just used the fresh pumpkins we had decorated throughout the house for fall.

First we glued the champagne cork to the pumpkin.

Then we glued on: the eyes, a felt triangle for the beak, and a curled up piece of pipe cleaner for the gobbler. I love how each turkey head came out a little differently.

For the legs we used one pipe cleaner and cut it in half to make two little turkey legs. Simply shaped each half into bird feet.  We used a toothpick to pierce two small holes in the pumpkin. Then we inserted the glue and pipe cleaner legs.

Next we glued on the feathers. We had blue feathers on hand from another craft project so we just used them.  You could make paper feathers as well.

The whole family joined in and we made a Thanksgiving turkey family.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Good health and good sense are two of life’s greatest blessings.

I wish you both.
