May Bee Keeping
May was a really fun month here in Florida. The weather is perfect, hot for beach and swimming, yet still no bugs and mosquitoes. There was a breeze it seemed the entire month, and we even had a few more cool nights. We took naps on the beach, went boating to look for manatees, visited family, and enjoyed the outdoors as much as possible.
The shop kept us busy this month with several custom orders, including these beautiful Mother’s DIY wine cork picture frames:
Our colored wine corks have been a successful craft supply for us this month:
Behind the scenes, we have been updating the blog and continuing to re-organize the workshop. We are still getting in wood and other recycled materials and it is a constant challenge to try to organize everything. I am happy with the progress and our workspace is becoming more efficient.
Monthly Features
This month we were published or featured on the following websites:
We received some free advertising for entering and winning an EcoEtsy Challenge. Our winning collection featured salty handmade items for Father’s Day: Captain Dad
We were also published on EcoEtsy’s {Food & Gardening} section with a summer rhubarb recipe.
You can still find my weekly handmade Etsy picks on Love 2 Upcycle each Sunday morning: Sustainable Sundays. I also wrote a guest post for their Wasteless Wednesday feature: Water Wise Gardening (with a few pictures of the kids).
We had a small mention in this winery’s special issue: Mother’s Day Gifts for Wine Lovers by Montesquieu Winery
We are looking forward to our three day Memorial Day weekend. We plan on hitting the beach AND unveiling our new line of coastal home decor for the summer. Look for more info on Monday. Until then we are offering an exclusive three day SALE this weekend for our blog readers only. Enter coupon code MEMORIALDAY at checkout for 10% your order. Offer ends midnight Monday May 28th.
Have a great weekend!
Thank you,
Bee
